DOTGO NEWS · GLOBAL BUSINESS SOFTWARE

Intuit announced an agreement to acquire Sequence on 15 October 2026, putting revenue management at the centre of its push into more complex business software. Financial terms were not disclosed.

WHY THIS MATTERS · DOTGO ANALYSIS

A creative pricing model is only useful if a business can turn it into an accurate invoice. For founders selling subscriptions or usage-based services, billing deserves attention alongside product development and customer acquisition.

An agreement, with integration still ahead

Jawlah covered the deal on 17 October. In its primary announcement, Intuit says Sequence's technology is intended to strengthen Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced.

Sequence, based in London and New York, provides software spanning pricing, invoicing, collections and revenue recognition. Intuit says it will continue supporting Sequence customers after closing and develop an integrated offering in the following months. The announcement describes planned capabilities; it does not establish that the transaction has closed or the combined product is available.

The DotGO perspective

ANALYSIS · DOTGO

Founders can use this development to examine where their own revenue process breaks. Pick a completed customer order and trace it through the business. Does the invoice reflect the signed terms? Can the team explain every adjustment? Can a customer dispute be resolved without searching several private spreadsheets?

That exercise produces a more useful technology brief than a broad request to automate finance. Define the exceptions a system must handle, who can approve changes, and how the business will preserve a reviewable record. Test those requirements before expanding the range of prices or contract options offered to customers.

For Saudi and European businesses, software fit also depends on the markets they serve. An acquisition announcement alone provides no assurance about local availability, language support or compatibility with existing accounting processes. Confirm those details directly when evaluating any future offering.

Investors assessing a business-software startup can ask a related question: which costly problem does its product solve well enough for a customer to keep paying? A large platform buying specialist capability is a useful signal of interest in that problem, without proving every competing startup has the same opportunity.

What to watch next

DOTGO ANALYSIS

Watch for confirmation of closing, integration details and product eligibility. Existing customers should distinguish promised direction from functionality covered by their current agreements before planning a migration.
