Saudi Arabia received SAR159.1 billion in foreign direct investment inflows during 2025, up 33.5% on 2024, according to GASTAT's annual figures covered by Jawlah on 15 October 2026.
WHY THIS MATTERS · DOTGO ANALYSIS
For founders and suppliers, the opportunity lies in identifying which investment activity can become a customer relationship. A national capital-flow total is a starting point for that search, rather than a sales pipeline.
Where the capital went
The GASTAT annual release puts construction inflows at SAR34.5 billion and manufacturing at SAR33.4 billion. These were the two largest receiving activities.
The broader figures need to be read together: outflows reached SAR77.7 billion, leaving net inflows of SAR81.4 billion, up 1.7%. The stock of FDI at year-end was SAR1,058.8 billion. Inflows, net flows and accumulated stock measure different things; the headline increase does not apply to all three.
These are annual investment statistics for 2025, reported in October 2026. They are not a measure of today's funding availability or evidence that every investment has become an operating facility.
The DotGO perspective
ANALYSIS · DOTGO
A useful next step is to turn a sector into a list of potential buyers. A software founder serving manufacturers could identify plants that need maintenance scheduling or quality reporting, then test who controls those budgets. A supplier to construction businesses could start with delivery reliability, qualification requirements and payment terms.
That exercise keeps market enthusiasm connected to an actual buying process. Ask what a customer must approve before placing an order, how long approval takes, and whether the contract can support the service costs it creates. Do not add capacity solely because an aggregate investment number has risen.
For European entrepreneurs considering a Saudi presence, the same discipline applies to partnerships. Establish the local partner's customer access and responsibilities, price the support required, and agree how revenue will be collected. For investors, ask portfolio companies to connect their expansion plans to named customer needs and a credible route to payment.
